Walk: Cunswick Fell, Bank End, Rather Heath Tarn, Ashes Coppice, Knott Hill, Capplerigg, Fell Gate, Ash Spring, Scar Wood
Start Point: Quarry Car Park, Underbarrow Grid Reference: SD 489925
Distance: 8.5 miles Ascent: 1,00 feet
Time: 5 hours
Weather: Temperatures hovering around zero centigrade but a bright, sunny day
Comments: A very pleasant walk. Our leader led us over fells and pastures, through woods and heaths to regain Cunswick Fell via a short, sharp ascent at scar Wood. Although it was a cold day it was warm walking with the sun on our backs. Frost lay on the ground and surrounding fells had a covering of icing (snow). What spectacular views our leader provided!
