Setting out on the walk . . .

we are soon on our way out of Downham . . .

and spot a couple of lambs making themselves comfortable

Time to re-group . . .

before heading down to Twiston Beck . . .

and up the other side

Time for a brew . . .

and discussions about the route

After passing close to a typical farm . . .

we have Pendle in view behind us . . .

and pause for a catch-up stop

The wild primroses are in full flower now but . . .

can you spot the deer?

After passing a mill . . .

we ascend Downham Common . . .

before heading back down into the village . . .

and enjoy our lunch at the Assheton Arms
