Walk: Acre Grove, Moor Hey Farm, Little Hoole Moss, Much Hoole Moss, Cocker Bar, Twenty Acre Lane, Much Hoole Moss Houses, Goose Green, Fox Cub Public House.
Start Point: The Fox Cub, Much Hoole Grid Reference: SD 476 237
Distance: 5.5 miles Ascent: Level Moss Land
Time: Under 3 hours
Weather: Overcast with the odd spot of rain.
Comments: Twenty three people took part in this very flat walk where the ascent gained was the height of the stiles. Starting at The Fox Cub on the A59 at Much Hoole the route took the shape of a square. First, they headed out in an eastward direction towards Leyland’s boundary. The route then turned south towards Cocker Bar passing on the way a wood, where the game of Paint Ball shooting takes place, Near to Cocker Bar Farm the route turned west and utilised Twenty Acre Lane (a track) and Moss House Lane before turning north to pass near to Rothwell’s Wood on the return to The Fox Cub for a well earned lunch. There was the odd spot of rain on the way round but just as the group sat down for lunch the heavens opened causing very short term flooding. Thanks to Brenda and Pam for leading and back marking.
