Walk: Whittlestone Head, Cranberry Moss, Tom Barn, Turton and Entwistle Reservoir, The Strawberry Duck (thankfully re-opened and re-furbished), Bank Wood and Cote Farm
Start Point: The Crown and Thistle Inn, Grimehills Grid Reference: SD 721 197
Distance: 5.45 miles Ascent: 780 feet
Time: 2.75 hours
Weather: Sunshine and showers, the heaviest being saved for the final half mile. Clear views across Greater Manchester.
Comments: Although the ground was quite spongy approaching Cranberry Moss and through Bank Wood, the reservoir showed no sign of filling. Good food at the pub at a more than reasonable price.
