Walk: Wytch Wood; Ballam Road; Green Drive; Saltcotes; Lytham Green.
Start Point: Granny's Bay, Fairhaven Grid Reference: SD 344 273
Distance: 5 miles Ascent: Little
Time: 2.45 hours
Weather: Fine & sunny
Comments: 17 people enjoyed a pleasant walk on sunny Sunday afternoon. Lots of snowdrops in Wytch Wood,. which is named after a race horse that was, reputedly, buried there in 1888 – we saw the head stone!
Pass the entrance to Lytham Hall, which was open for snowdrop walks – we had seen ours. We walked on to join Green Drive, which is a traffic free area, looked after by ‘Friends of Green Drive’. On to the sea front & back along the Green to our start point.
