Walk: The walk was an adaptation of the Adlington Circular walk and included Shawes Drive, the banks of the River Douglas, the canal aquaduct over the Douglas, and a stretch of the Leeds to Liverpool canal. The walk crossed briefly into Greater Manchester (Bolton MBC/Blackrod).
Start Point: Bay Horse, Babylon Lane, Heath Charnock Grid Reference: SD 611 145
Distance: 5.6 miles Ascent: 325 feet
Time: 2.5 hours    
Weather: Fine, sunny but cool
Comments: The Adlington Circular is well-signposted with helpful information boards along the route. The leader altered the route, going up Rawlinson Lane to avoid a busy junction at Skew Bridge, and a walk up the golf course drive.
