Walk: Helwith Bridge, Pen-y-Ghent, Plover Hill, Hull Pot, Ribble Way
Start Point: Helwith bridge Grid Reference: SD 810 695
Distance: 12 miles Ascent: 2,250 ft
Time: 6.25 hrs
Weather: A mild day, very misty in the morning. Cloud lifting in the afternoon but covering fell tops all day
Comments: Eleven walkers set off for this outing to Pen-y-Ghent. Unfortunately, as we climbed, we were enveloped in low cloud and this stayed with us until we descended to Foxup Moor. The cloud did lift in the afternoon, although it still covered the fell tops. We did however get a glimpse of sun as we crossed Horton Moor, and the weather stayed fine until the end of the walk.
