Walk: Uncle Tomís Cabin, South Pier, Blackpool Tower, Coral Island Chippy, Central Pier, South Pier and Pleasure Beach.
Start Point: Tram Stop, Red Bank Road, Bispham Grid Ref: N/A
Distance: 4 miles Ascent: Level
Time: 3 hours
Weather: Dry with a slight sea breeze
Comments: This annual event of a nocturnal walk through the Blackpool Illuminations took place on a pleasant evening with twenty two people taking part. Unlike last year, when one could hardly stand up because of gale force winds, there were many people enjoying a stroll along the Golden Mile. The usual pilgrimage to a Fish and Chip shop took place after which the group continued to the Pleasure Beach. Here they boarded a new tram (or is it Electric Light Railway) for a smooth but crowded ride back to the start point. NB. For those with Bus Passes there are restriction to their use on trams on certain evenings Ė check with Blackpool Transport if you are proposing to tour the lights.
