Walk: Uncle Tom's Cabin, South Pier, Blackpool Tower, Coral Island Chippy, Central Pier, South Pier and Pleasure Beach.
Start Point: Tram Stop, Red Bank Road, Bispham Grid Ref: N/A
Distance: 4 miles Ascent: Level
Time: 3 hours
Weather: Dry with a slight sea breeze
Comments: This annual event of a nocturnal walk through the Blackpool Illuminations took place on a pleasant evening with twenty two people taking part. Unlike last year, when one could hardly stand up because of gale force winds, there were many people enjoying a stroll along the Golden Mile. The usual pilgrimage to a Fish and Chip shop took place after which the group continued to the Pleasure Beach. Here they boarded a new tram (or is it Electric Light Railway) for a smooth but crowded ride back to the start point. NB. For those with Bus Passes there are restriction to their use on trams on certain evenings, check with Blackpool Transport if you are proposing to tour the lights.
