Walk: Hodder Bank Fell, River Hodder, Beatrix Fell
Start Point: Dunsop Bridge Grid Reference: SD 661 502
Distance: 10.5 miles Ascent: 1,150 feet
Time: 5.5 hours
Weather: Cool and mostly sunny, occasional cloud but stayed dry all day
Comments: Members enjoyed the walk which started at the car park in Dunsop Bridge. From there we joined the banks of the River Hodder before eventually turning up Fielding Clough and onto Hodder Bank Fell. We then dropped down to cross Birkett Brook at Giddy Bridge where we stopped for elevenses before heading on to Foulscales and down to Newton and the River Hodder.
Lunch was taken on the banks of the Hodder just before Slaidburn after which we headed through the churchyard and onto the fells once more towards Pain Hill Moor. Reaching Bull lane we then headed towards Beatrix before finally reaching the River Dunsop and heading back to Dunsop Bridge. A very pleasant day's walking.
