Walk: Boredale Hause, Place Fell, Sleet Fell, Hallin Fell
Start Point: Patterdale Hotel car park Grid Reference: SD 395 159
Distance: 10.7 miles Ascent: 3,000 feet
Time: 6 hours
Weather: A bright, cold start gradually deteriorating with snow in the afternoon.
Comments: Nine members joined the leader on this, the first strenuous walk of 2013. After the Christmas lay-off the ascent of Place Fell was testing for some (including the leader). However, the weather stayed clear and we were rewarded with some good views. As we made our way down over Sleet Fell to Sandwick the weather began to turn and we had a few flurries of snow. Leaving Sandwick we followed a number of field paths before our second ascent of the day to Hallin Fell. With the weather conditions deteriorating we did not linger long at the summit and made our way back to Patterdale along the lakeside path.

A quick look round and we see deer on Patterdale Common
