Walk: Caton, Brookhouse, The River Lune and Annas Ghyll
Start Point: Black Bull, Brookhouse. LA2 9JP Grid Reference: SD 541 645
Distance: 5.3 miles Ascent: 525 feet
Time: 3 hours
Weather: A damp start with the sun appearing early in the walk
Comments: This walk attracted 24 people plus a leader. Many people started out wearing waterproofs but fortunately the rain didn't materialise and the group enjoyed warm sunshine instead. The walk was mainly undulating with a level stretch by the side of the River Lune. The leader started by heading south west of Brookhouse before turning north through Caton to the River Lune. Leaving the river the route then took in Bull Beck before ascending to Brookhouse and then on towards Annas Gyll. The last leg of the walk passed 'No Fret Farm' on the return to the Black Bull. Another enjoyable walk with local panoramas together with views of the nearby Lakeland Fells
