Walk: The Monk's Road, Malham Tarn, Pennine Way, Fountains Fell, Darnbrook Fell, Littondale
Start Point: Arncliffe Grid Reference: SD 930 719
Distance: 16.3 miles Ascent: 2,000 feet
Time: 6.5 hours
Weather: An overcast day with light rain early on. Feeling cold for June.
Comments: The walk followed the Monk's Road to Malham Tarn where we joined the Pennine Way. Now following the Pennine Way we climb Fountains Fell before descending into the valley of Pen y Ghent Gill. Leaving the Pennine Way at this point, we follow a good track around Darnbrook Fell, before descending into Littondale. From Litton we followed the River Skirfare and a number of pleasant field paths back to the cars.
