Walk: Silverdale
Start Point: Silverdale Hotel Grid Reference: SD 459 748
Distance: 5 miles Ascent: 400 feet
Time: 2.5 hrs
Weather: the weather was excellent throughout and provided us with extensive views from the top of the Pepperpot.
Comments: Our leisurely walk on 13th March 13 began at the "Silverdale Hotel" and proceeded up Silverdale's main street to the Parish Church. Here we turned off and crossed fields to "The Row" which comes out near the Eaves Wood car park which we did not enter. Instead we went into more fields crossed the railway line heading towards Waterslack and Challan Hall. We crossed the railway line again and entered Eaves Wood and made our way up to "The Pepperpot" a monument built to celebrate Queen Victoria's 60th year on the throne. Then we made our way back to the Silverdale Hotel via the "the Cove" with splendid views of Morecambe bay on the way
