Walk: Grasmere Village, Rydal, Scandale Bridge, Rydal Park, Coffin Route below Nab Scar.
Start Point: Old quarry car park up the lane adjacent to White Moss Car Park Grid Reference: NY 345 063
Distance: 8 miles Ascent: 850 feet
Time: 5 hours
Weather: Overcast with rain early afternoon, warm
Comments: The walk circumnavigated Grasmere and Rydal Water in an anticlockwise direction with a stop at Rydal Hall Cafe for tea and cake in the afternoon. The route was mainly over well-trodden paths and some lake side lanes. The weather managed to keep dry until around lunch time when the rain came. Eight people took part in the walk which was in beautiful part of the world.
