Walk: Ashton Park, Millennium Link, Lancaster Canal and Haslam Park
Start Point: Ashton Park, Pedders Lane CP Grid Reference: SD 512 302
Distance: 4 miles Ascent: 170 feet
Time: 2.75 hours
Weather: Dry, grey and not too cold
Comments: Sixteen people took part in this circular walk which was mainly on hard surfaces.  There are no stiles, gates or fields on the route.  Leaving Ashton Park the walk was by the way of Kingsway to the Millennium Link and then on to the Preston Sports Centre.  The remainder of the route was by tow path along the Lancaster Canal and along the main avenue of Haslam Park to Cottam Lane and then across Blackpool Road to Ashton Park.  Points of interest were pointed out along the way.  Because of the proximity to Yule Tide the normal pub lunch had to be sacrificed.  But the minced pies provided were good!
