Walk: Rufford village, Leeds and Liverpool Canal, the River Douglas
Start Point: Hesketh Arms, Rufford Grid Reference: SD 460 155
Distance: 5.7 miles Ascent: Less than 100 feet
Time: 2.75 hours    
Weather: Heavy shows, light winds, fairly mild.
Comments: After walking through the village we crossed the railway lines and walked North along the East bank of the Douglas. We turned West at Red Bridge (which is painted green!) to the towpath of the canal and then walked South back to the village, past Rufford Old Hall. 26 people took part.
