Walk: Milnthorpe Sands, Haverback, Beetham Fell, Fairy Steps and Beetham
Start Point: Cross Keys, Milnthorpe Grid Reference: SD 496 814
Distance: 5.7 miles Ascent: 350 feet
Time: 3 hours
Weather: Rain
Comments: On this rather damp day eighteen hardy souls set out from Milnthorpe to see the Fairy Steps.  Their route was by the way of an old railway bed, limestone paths, field paths and quiet lanes.  The outward and return paths passed through Dallam Tower Deer Park, where sheep, cattle and deer took shelter under trees from the rain.  Although it was raining most of the time views of the rivers Bela and Kent could be seen as they flowed towards Morecambe Bay.
