Walk: River Brock, Waddecar Scout Activity Centre, Beacon Fell and Whitechapel
Start Point: Brock Mill car park Grid Reference: SD 548 431
Distance: 7.8 miles Ascent: 750 feet
Time: 5 hours
Weather: Overcast with some sunny outbreaks
Comments: Starting at the Brock Mill Car Park the route followed the River Brock, on the Preston boundary, upstream to Snape Rake Lane and then on to Wickins Barn before ascending Beacon Fell.  After lunch the group descend the south side of Beacon fell to Crombleholme Fold and followed various field paths to Whitechapel and on to Brock Bottom before returning upstream of the River Brock to the start point.  The weather was exceedingly kind.  Fourteen people took part including a near octogenarian.  There is a café and toilet facilities on Beacon Fell.  A good walk with good views from Beacon Fell.
