Walk: Up Town, Ellel Grange, Thurnham RC Church, Norbreck Farm, Pattys Farm, Cocker Bridge and Cockerham Church
Start Point: Cockerham Village Hall car park Grid Reference: SD 465 520
Distance: 7.5 miles Ascent: 500 feet
Time: 4 hours
Weather: Very windy, overcast but dry
Comments: Although there was a poor weather forecast, ten people took part in this circular walk.  Leaving Cockerham via Willy Lane the group headed inland towards Ellel Grange before turning and continuing to Thurnham Church.  The church provided a welcome windbreak from the strong wind for elevenses.  Later, after climbing sixty feet above the low laying fields lunch was taken near to Norbreck Farm.  The remaining part of the walk was more exposed, and across fields just a few feet above sea level.  At Pattys Farm the group followed the bottom of the sea defences using the Lancashire Coastal Way to reach Cocker Bridge before following the road back to Cockerham.  A breezy day that put colour in ones cheeks.
