|Walk:||Pennine Way, Sell Gill Hole, Ling Gill, Ribble Way, God’s Bridge|
|Start Point:||Horton Bridge, Horton in Ribblesdale||Grid Reference:||SD 810 720|
|Distance:||12 miles||Ascent:||1,500 feet|
|Weather:||Wet and windy|
|Comments:||Nine walkers ignored the weather report and joined the leader on this walk. Leaving Horton we followed the Pennine Way for a time passing the deep fissure of Sell Gill Hole. In view of the wet and windy weather we didn’t linger too long around the opening. From Sell Gill we followed the Pennine Way for a while longer to the packhorse bridge above Ling Gill. The planned walk was to follow the Pennine Way a little further to Cam End but in view of the worsening weather it was decided to take a shorter and more direct path from Ling Gill Bridge to Nether Lodge to rejoin the original route. From Nether Lodge we followed the Ribble Way for four kilometres to Top Farm. From here we took a hastily improvised route through this untidy farmyard to reach the road and return to the start.|
