Walk: Above Beck, Hunt’s Gill Beck, Alcocks Farm, Outhwaite Wood, Bowskill Wood, Barkin Bridge, Lower Salter, Pedder Gill, Harterbeck Farm, Outhwaite, Hunt’s Gill Bridge
Start Point: Wray Bridge Grid Reference: SD 606 674
Distance: 8.3 miles Ascent: 1,200 feet
Time: 5.25 hours
Weather: Warm and sunny
Comments: 18 walkers. The stile on the concessionary footpath through Roeburndale at  SD 602 639 has had barbed wire removed. Conditions underfoot were probably as dry as they get in that area. The woods were full of wild flowers.

Frank's expectation was that if the Harrisons are leading, it will rain!

Heading into Outhwaite Wood

The woods had lots of wild garlic and fresh ferns and bracken

This rickety bridge was not on our route!

Coffee break in a clearing overlooking the river

As we headed south the Bowland Fells appeared

This descent would have been far more tricky in wet weather

Thanks to the Bowland Rangers, barbed wire had been removed from this stile on the concessionary path

Lunch at Barkin Bridge

Leaving Barkin Bridge and heading towards Lower Salter

Having passed through Lower Salter we came across lots of young calves and more expansive views

We had views of the Three Peaks. Ingleborough was the nearest
