Walk: Lancaster canal, Ducketts farm, Brow Top, Brock Side, Bilsborrow Hall Farm
Start Point: The Roebuck, Bilsborrow Grid Reference: SD 510 398
Distance: 5.1 miles Ascent: 250 feet
Time: 2.75 hours
Weather: Dull and overcast

Despite the poor weather forecast, 23 walkers set off northwards along the Lancaster canal passing Barton Grange Garden Centre & Marina before turning inland. The route then took us across fields to the steep footbridges over the railway line & the M6 which was the main ascent of the day! After walking along minor roads we turned to descend across a big field to our break stop – just as it started to drizzle. It did clear again as we walked by the River Brock  turning across fields to walk through a cow shed to reach the road & back over the M6 & railway (no steps this time). We enjoyed seeing lovely gardens by the canal at the beginning of the walk & again at the end as we headed to Billsborrow Church, which is always beautiful.
