Comments:

As we left Gargrave there was uncertainty by some as to where Weets Top actually was, but this changed once the summit was reached. Everyone then recognised it as a top they had all been to before; it was just that on this walk we had approached it from the south east via the Dales Highway.

There were seven on this walk including a guest, Jim, who we were pleased to have in our company once again.

Wake up! It's time to hear about the walk . . .

which starts along the canal bank . . .

and across the bridge . . .

at the locks

Perhaps we should have this on the roads

Some of the group disappear into the Wine Cave . . .

and look a lot happier . . .

as they emerge . . .

with smiles on their faces!

Looking for a good seat for elevenses

Hetton Common Head looking south to Sharp Haw in the distance

Passing a lovely group . . .

of thistles

Admiring the view . . .

on Weets Top

A few rocks provide good seats . . .

for a lunch stop at Calton

Robb inspects the stones - which seem to have been machine cut?

Emerging onto the road as we make our way back . . .

to the car park
