Walk: Bolton Hall, Westy Bank Wood, Middle Hare Head, High Hare Head, Barden Vroad Park, Barden Tower, Barden Bridge, Dales Way, Strid Wood
Start Point: Bolton Abbey Car Par Grid Reference: SE 078 552
Distance: 8.5 miles Ascent: 900 feet
Time: 5 hours
Weather: A  dry sunny day with little cloud.

14 walkers set out from the upper car park and Tea Room, on past Bolton Hall and a left turn into farmland and across fields to eventually reach Westy Bank Wood. We passed through the wood on up to Middle Hare Head where we stopped for coffee. After the break we climbed up over High Hare Head and down to the road and across with our heading towards Lower Bardon Reservoir. We circled North of the reservoir and headed towards Barden Broad Park for our Lunch stop. After lunch we headed along the road to Barden Tower and made a track towards Bardon Bridge where we stopped for an Ice Cream break. Our return was to follow the Wharfe on the Dales Way passing through the Strid and on through the Strid Wood to meet the river crossing above Cavendish Pavillion. With no takers for the stepping stones route we crossed the foot bridge and climbed on up to The Arches and the car park where we started. A good days walk in perfect conditions.
