Walk: Winter Hill (not Chorley), The Height Farm, Birch Hall, Spout House, Waddington Farm and The Rock
Start Point: The Rock, Tockholes Grid Reference: SD 663 233
Distance: 4.25 miles Ascent: 640 feet
Time: 2.5 hours
Weather: Bright sunshine with high temperatures forecast. However, at 750 feet above sea level there was a cool breeze.  Torrential rain of the previous evening left the path a little boggy in places.

The route was circular, undulating and straddled the M65 Motorway.  Fifteen ramblers took part and enjoyed the vista en-route.  Many of the fields in the area that at one time provided pasture for cattle; now act as paddocks for horses instead.  A pleasant walk and good food at the inn.
