Comments:

14 walkers set out from Stoops Bridge car park, taking a river bridge crossing and a steep climb up and out onto an access lane with 2 stile crossings either side. We then took a line to pick up a section of Wyre Way and crossed to Top of  Emmetts. We then took a pasture footpath leading to Tarnbrook passing through the Hamlet and starting our uphill track taking us up to the base of Wards Stone. Reaching the T junction where the Wards Stone Plateau forms the skyline we took a pathway below the feature and passed South of Wards Stone Breast heading along the well laid pathway towards Grit Fell in the distance. At a point on the fell approach we stopped for our lunch. Continuing after lunch we followed the path which took us across Margery’s Hill and down to Higher Lee. A short stretch of roadway took us to Lower Lee and at the bridge we followed a left turn pathway back to our start point a Stoops Bridge.
