Walk: Brock and Bilsborrow
Start Point: Guy’s Thatched Hamlet, Bilsborrow Grid Reference: SD 508 396
Distance: 4.75 miles Ascent: Little
Time: 2.75 hrs
Weather: Dry with a little sunshine

Leaving Guy’s Thatched Hamlet the group headed north along the Lancaster Canal to leave it at Brock.  Crossing the A6 the route was then alongside the River Brock to Higher Brock New Bridge where a break was taken.  After re-tracing the path back to the site of the  former Matshead Paper Mill (a little of the waterwheel area can still be seen) the route was over fields to emerge on to Bilsborrow Lane (after passing through a cowshed) at Bilsborrow Hall Farm.  The group then visited the church of St Hilda at Bilsborrow before re joining the canal to return to Guy’s Thatched Hamlet.  The food was good, the service was good and the weather was kind.
