Four brave souls turned up for the walk, so as not to let the leader down! It actually turned out much better than we could have expected. The walk was mainly on tracks or canal tow paths but that didn’t mean we could avoid mud and slippery ground underfoot. Even the track was flooded right across at one point and had to be detoured around, but we braved ‘walking the plank’ rather than cutting the walk shorter. Our legs felt as if we had walked far further by the time we had to climb the steps over the railway line at the end. We were back in plenty of time to wash and get changed ready for our Christmas Meal at the Sparling. Twelve people enjoyed the excellent food and company. Thank you Elizabeth for organising the meal for us. Happy Christmas to all those who couldn’t make it on this occasion.
