Walk:

Garburn Road, Yoke, Ill Bell, Froswick, High Street, Thornthwaite Crag, Threshthwaite Mouth, Park Fell Head for Troutbeck Tongue and Ing Lane for Troutbeck Church

Start Point: Troutbeck Church Grid Reference: NY 412 027
Distance: 14.5 miles Ascent: 3,650 feet
Time: 7 hours
Weather: Hot and sunny
Comments:

Five hardy souls, including Helen from the Penrith Ramblers Group, set off on what was a hot and sunny day.
The walk is mainly on good paths with the exceptions being the scree descent to Thresthwaite Mouth and the valley floor by Trout Beck which was boggy in places.
Enjoyed by all five of us including Helen who had no problems with the pace.

We are off and Helen is showing us how it’s done

The village of Troutbeck with Limefitt Park on the left

With Windermere as a backdrop we approach the summit of Yoke

Yoke and it’s time for our elevenses

Ill Bell

Rocky descent from Ill Bell

Froswick

Lunch at the summit of High Street

Approaching the Beacon on Thornthwaite Crag

The not very pleasant descent from Thornthwaite Crag to Threshthwaite Mouth

Troutbeck Tongue. Our walk from here is down into the valley and back to the cars.
