Walk: Hankinson Bridge, Fence Foot, Halliday’s Farm and Lancaster Canal
Start Point: The Sparling , Garstang Road, Barton Grid Reference: SD 514 373
Distance: 5 miles Ascent: Very Little
Time: 2.5 hours
Weather: Hot, humid, overcast with the odd spot of rain with thunder forecast
Comments:

This pleasant circular walk was mainly level and used many field paths, farm tracks and a canal towpath. Although thunder was forecast the group escaped with only a smattering of rain drops. The fields contained grazing cattle, new mown hay, maize and solar panels.
The reward was an excellent meal at The Sparling. (The liver, onions and mash went down a treat).
