Fifteen people braved the rain to walk by the River Ribble which was in full flow after several days of rain. The group first made their way to St Leonard’s Church on Cuerdale Lane via a flight of steps from Butcher Brow. From there they made their way down to a path that followed the River Ribble, via Cuerdale Hall, to reach “Halfpenny Bridge” that carries the A59 over the Ribble. They then used the Ribble Way/Guild Wheel to return to the Yew Tree via London Road and Victoria Road. It rained for most of the time and the ground was a little “Claggy” in places. Leaflets of the route and points of interest where given out prior to the commencement of the walk. The food and service at the Yew Tree was excellent.
