Walk: Hest Bank
Start Point: The Royal Hotel, Bolton le Sands Grid Reference: SD 485 684
Distance: 5.3 miles Ascent: 330 feet
Time: 3 hours
Weather: Overcast but warm
Comments:

The group joined the Lancaster Canal at the rear of The Royal Hotel and walked south to Hest Bank and then followed the Lancashire Coastal Way in a northerly direction to Wild Duck Hall.  Leaving the coast they then rejoined the canal to return to The Royal Hotel.  It was a pleasant walk with narrow boats plying along the canal and the sea licking the shore on Morecambe Bay.  There was plenty of bird song and many swallows could be seen.  Unfortunately it was a little hazy and the Lakeland hills could not be seen.
