A good turn out of thirty plus.  The first part of the walk was mainly uphill with a steep climb of about 40 feet from Grizedale Brook.  After Burns Farm the walk levelled out before descending to Barnacre Church and Lady Hamilton’s Well.  From Lady Hamilton’s Well the route was by way of Keepers Lane and a crossing of the West Coast Railway and the M6 Motorway in order to reach Gubberford Bridge and the River Wyre.  Following the Wyre Way, the group returned to Scorton and “The Barn” for lunch.  The walk offered many views including the Fylde Coast area.  On the route work was taking place to convert a former reservoir building into a dwelling.  It was here that the “Trespassers will be Shot” notice could be seen. (see picture) There were no bodies lying about at the time of passing.

There will be a short climb of about 40 feet

The photographer should not have relied on Autofocus - the sign at a building site reads NO TRESPASSING Violators will be shot
