Walk: Lennox Farm, Spire Hill and Thornley Hall Fell
Start Point: Newdrop, Knowle Green Grid Reference: SD 644 390
Distance: 4 miles Ascent: 506 feet
Time: 2.5 hours
Weather: A dry start but wet finish

The suave, sophisticated and clever leader (his words) led the group of fifteen to the trig point at Spire Hill on Longridge Fell. The ascent from the Newdrop was via Lennox Farm along a waterlogged path and boggy ground.  On arrival at the Trig Point the rain/mist cleared long enough for Chipping to be seen below with Beacon Fell and Parlick Pike in the hazy distance. The descent was by Thornley Hall Fell along a waterlogged path.  From this path, on a good day, the Ribble Valley and hills of East Lancashire can be seen.  Unfortunately, whilst descending from the fell, the rains returned turning the path in to a watercourse.  However, the inclement weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the group as they returned to the Newdrop for a well earned meal
