10 walkers set out from Higher Hodder Bridge and dropped down onto the footpath following the edges of the River Hodder. This footpath would take us all the way to meet Lower Hodder Bridge and the now unused Cromwell’s Bridge.Turning right, taking a short roadway walk, we turned right again to climb up to Bradhurst Farm. More roadway, we set our line to Stoneyhurst College, and a circuit of the College buildings and playing fields. Passing the front entrance of the College we headed towards Stoneyhurst Golf Course which we had to pass through and on into woodland and our exit onto Birdy Brow. After a good distance on Birdy Brow we eventually turned right onto a footpath passing Ryddings Farm. It was then on into woodland paths and a route down to the River Hodder again. Retracing our steps out we arrived back at the start on Higher Hodder Bridge. A great days walking thank you to Dorothy and Rodger.
