Walk: Barbondale, Barbon Beck, Blindbeck Bridge, Bullpot Farm, Hoggs Hill, Brownthwaite Pike
Start Point: Barbon Village Hall Grid Reference: SD 630 824
Distance: 9 miles Ascent: 1,270 feet
Time: 5 hours
Weather: A dry sunny morning. Sunshine and high temperatures for the rest of walk
Comments: 6 walkers set out from Barbon Village Hall up Pencil Brow to eventually join a wooded path through Barbondale. The route took us to a point where we joined Barbon Beck and on to the newly built bridge crossing the Beck. We stopped for coffee after leaving a short road walk to join a low level path at the foot of Barbon Low Fell. A steady climb after coffee we headed over the moorland to reach a roadway at Bullpot Farm. Following the road after 1 mile we took a footpath to start our ascent up to Brownthwaite Pike with some great views over to Heysham. Down off the Pike we selected a pleasent location for a spot of lunch. After lunch we followed Fell Road to a point where we joined Fellfoot Road and a climb to the point of footpath leading to Langthwaite. The remaining footpath was over farmland through Fell Garth, Whelp Rigg, and Middle Pasture Wood, eventually leading us back to Town End and Barbon Village Hall.  A great day's walking thanks to Richard.
