Climbing out of Brunthwaite we headed for the Village of Swartha crossing farmland footpaths. On out of Swartha and passing the locals and their  allotments we crossed Bolton road and joined the area of Townhead with cottages dating back to 1696. Out of Townhead a steep ascent over farmland crossing Silsden Beck and making a heading to Hey Hills Farm and our stop for Lunch. Another ascent over farmland and heading to Raikes Head Farm and out onto Bradley Road. Making our turn for the homeward walk we passed several farms and eventually out onto New Lane, with a short downhill stretch eventually turning left on a grassy walled track heading for Kildwick Grange. Passt the Grange buildings we headed down to the Canal and crossed Grange Swing Bridge and onto the Canal Towpath and our route back. Three more Bridges 189-190-and 191 took us into the Town and our car park start.
