3 set off walking through Cuerden Valley. We were soon on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal which we followed for a short while past Botany Bay before leaving to set off on our climb up onto Healey Nab. We stopped here for our morning break. We dropped off the back of Healey Nab heading for White Coppice. We then followed the Goit before joining the track up through Wheelton Plantation. Soon we were up onto the open moor at Solomon’s Temple and the lone tree where we stopped for our lunch. From here we headed back through Withnell, Withnell Fold, and Top o’ th’ Lane back to the start.
