Today’s suave and sophisticated leader (his words) led twenty-two people on a circular walk in the vicinity of Dean Brook north of Great Harwood. The route was by way of tracks, lanes and field paths and included a couple of steepish inclines. Its normally a scenic walk, but today a light haze hid some of the distant hills. Although it is still February, the rare climatic conditions allowed people to walk in short sleeve order. A woodpecker and other song birds could be heard from time to time along the route. A further eight persons took a leisurely stroll of just over three miles around Dean Clough Reservoir. A well-earned lunch was taken at the Dog & Otter.
