On the first 4s walk of 2019 14 walkers set out from the Jubilee Playing Fields on The Adlington Circular, dropping down to the Leeds Liverpool Canal Towpath at bridge 69 heading towards Heath Charnock. We exited the Towpath at bridge 72 crossing the A6 and heading towards the access road to Chorley Golf Club. Turning right before the Clubhouse we headed past Hall o' th' Hill Farm and Slacks Farm where we stopped for coffee. On up to Broad Oak Farm and onto Long Lane where we crossed the M61 Motorway making our way towards Upper Rivington Reservoir. The route took us alongside the reservoir where we eventually turned onto Horrobin Lane and left along New Road and again a crossing of the M61 into The Shaws a wooded area where we stopped for lunch. After lunch it was back again onto The Adlington Circular and the Rotary Way, this took us south side of Adlington among some of the remaining industrial operations in the area. Crossing the A6 on the homeward straight we followed the canal towpath back to Jubilee Playing Fields a great start to 2019 rambling.
