Walk: Darwen Tower
Start Point: Crookfield Road Car Park Grid Reference: SD 665 191
Distance: 15 miles Ascent: 1,725 feet
Time: 6.25 hours
Weather: Thick mist and wet
Comments:

Five keen walkers walked in thick mist all day so there was very little to be seen of the surrounding landscape. We initially followed the Witton Weavers Way before cutting across to Turton & Entwistle reservoir where we stopped for our 11’s. From here we crossed the reservoir and re-joined the Witton Weavers Way again heading east over the A666 and on to Darwen Tower. From here we dropped down to Slipper Lowe then passed Hollinshead Hall ruin on our way back to our cars.

Elevenses stop at Entwistle Resevoir
