4 wet days out of 14. No complaints.

We undertook this walk having walked the Dalesway almost 3 years earlier and having been inspired by Dorothy, Marie and Sheila’s C2C walk in 2011. We were prepared for the scenery given that we knew we were walking through such wonderful north of England countryside. We were prepared for whatever the elements threw at us. What we were not expecting was the hugely enjoyable social side to the C2C. We met, walked and dined with some wonderful people from all over the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Sharing the walk with them was a truly enriching experience. One of the walkers we met was keeping an online blog in which we acquired the “handle” of the “Lancashire Cake to Cakers” given the frequency with which we were seen indulging in tea and cakes!
The photos give a flavour of our experience of C2C. They were difficult to choose given that Christine alone took 470! We each had our own favourite sections of the walk, but would agree that each day, even when wet, was an exciting experience. The hardest day was the last with continuous rain, waterlogged moorland paths and mist that made navigation difficult at times.
We acquired the odd blister, and John a beard! 14 days seemed about right for us.
