Southern end of Georges Lane

A walk with minimal mud. The route is on good tracks.

Anglezarke Car Park

From the start point past High Bullough Res (now more like a large pond) and then near The Goit to White Coppice. Climb to Great Hill. Head south on Redmonds Edge and turn towards Simms and then to Yarrow Resr. Lastly return to the starting point.

From Ryal Fold enter Roddlesworth Woods heading south to Higher Pasture Barn (ruin). Then follow the path over the moor passing the former coalfield (little survives) to Duckshaw Brook and on to Darwen Tower. Then return by Sunnyhurst to Ryal Fold.

Dolphinholme Village Hall

A circular walk in a clockwise direction descending to Lower Dolphinholme then fields and tracks to Tinkers Lane. Aiming for Stonehead farm, Swainshead Hall and return along Wyre Way.

Parking is on the left hand side of the main drive top end just below the Hall Barn.

An 8-mile circular walk from Rivington Hall Barn climbing up to the restored Gardens and the Pidgeon Tower. Contouring around the upper slopes of Winter Hill on a track called the Belmont Road to Hordern Stoops. Returning via Higher Hempshaw's and Yarrow Reservoir. The majority of the walk is on good tracks and paths, with just one short patch where it may be wet underfoot.
